Operations and Administration

Here’s an overview of the internal workings of the agency and the roles of various departments

Administration

âĶ Coordinates the activities of all the Unities;
âĶ Coordinates Stakeholders’ Platform on Emergency;
âĶ Ensures effective symbiotic relationship with National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA);
âĶ Plans programme on strengthening the capacity of the agency and other Emergency institutions and mechanism to prepare, respond and recovery at State and Local Government levels.

 

Finance

âĶ Management of the assets of the agency such as vehicles and disaster equipment;
âĶ Administration and Management of the Warehouse such as ensure goods received by store meet standard requirement;
âĶ Handle protocol matters such organizing official reception/visit and servicing of the agency’s major meetings such as Stakeholders’ Forum
âĶ Preparation of annual Budgets Estimates
âĶ Proper supervision of the Registry for effective and efficient record filling;
âĶ Preparing statutory and periodic reports;
âĶ Performs personnel, financial and general administration duties.

Planning,Research and Training

âĶ Prepare and forecast data on disaster management
âĶ Collate data and analysis data disaster management

Search and Rescue

âĶ Coordinate and facilitate Search and Rescue activities on disaster in Oyo State;
âĶ Coordinating the activities of Emergency Rescue Team of the Agency and those of other response Stakeholders in disaster management i.e Red Cross Society, State Fire Services. e.t.c
âĶ Participate, identify and mobilize critical resources for Search and Rescue in the identified disaster scenarios as captured in the disaster risk profile of the State or contingency Plan;
âĶ Coordinate and formulate preparedness and response activities in form of drills/exercise in collaboration with stakeholders and disaster response Units of defense staffs.

Relief and Rehabilitation

âĶ Provision of Relief support and Rehabilitation;
âĶ Conduct and process assessment reports wth a view to:
âĶ commiserating with victims of disasters on behalf of the Government
âĶ Ascertaining claims of disaster victims, and
âĶ offering timely advices to such victims particularly when there is need to vacate the scene of disaster by such victims.
âĶ Making recommendation to the Government with a view to securing approval for relief intervention based on assessment conducted;
âĶ Prompt distribution of approved relief materials to disaster victims;
âĶ Liaising with Local Emergency Management Committees (L.E.M.Cs)
âĶ Undertake establishment and management of IDP Camps in the state whenever the need arises;
âĶ Liaising with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) Faith Based Organization (FBOs), Community Development Associations (CDAs) and other non-State actors.
